I am currently the Head of Data Science & Analytics at Duolingo, an EdTech company where it is our mission to develop the best education in the world and to make it universally available. Previously, I spent two years helping build and lead an interdisciplinary Central Science team at Amazon with economists, data and applied scientists, survey specialists, user researchers, and engineers. I also spent a decade and half in the Research Department of the World Bank in Washington D.C. pursuing an applied academic career. I have a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and my interests span the fields of economics, data science, machine learning/AI, psychology, and user research.
